I really like the set up! I have a t2i also. My question is, what is the thing the camera is mounted on underneath called? It reminds me of a full frame canon like an EOS where you put the battery into.
 
Also, what's the circular thing connected to your tripod called?

The setup is mounted on a RAIL system. The white wheel is the racking focus called follow focus.
