Using Comer 1800 light with AC Adapter

Posted on 11/12/2009 11:39:00 AM

Get an inexpensive AC adapter to power the Comer 1800 light.

Thanks to Barry Werger at Ullanta MusicWorks barry@ullanta.com tried out the Radio Shack Enercell AC Adapter can be used to power the Comer 1800 light

Greetings! I took the 1800 to Radio Shack today and tried a few things... the cheapest that seemed to work well was:

Enercell 12VDC-1.5A AC-to-DC power adapter (273-358) with Adaptiplug 273-344 (5.5mm O.D. 2.1mm I.D.).

I had tried an adapter i had around the house, 12v-1A, but it didn't achieve full brightness of the light (compared to a battery). The combination from Radio Shack seems as far as i can tell to be as bright as the battery.

So: That's a readily available adapter for anyone looking for one!

Thanks Barry!

Replied by LA Color Pros Jim, the AC adapter only used to power the light. It will not charge the battery. You can order a separate charger at

Posted by Rich Hinkle on 1/28/2012 7:12:00 PM I have tried the Radio Shack parts described above with bad results. I own two Comer 1800 unites. On one unit, the Radio Shack power adapter initially powers the light with what appears to be full brightness, but within a few seconds steps the light down to the lowest setting. On my other unit, the light flashes on and off, alternating about every two or three seconds.

Can anyone tell me of something else that I can try? I really need to be able to use these lights for longer than the extra duty battery allows.

Thanks!

Replied by LA Color Pros Jeff, I personally didn't use AC adapter. It's from our previous customer successfully have Radio Shack matched the AC adapter to be used with the Comer 1800 light. -Taky
