I've been thinking about getting a Comer 1800 for quite some time, but have been searching for a simple solution so I can mount the light with my Rode NTG-2, while not extending them too high above the camera. What's the height on this? I'm using an HV20 and was wondering if I set this perpendicular to the camera, would the tape compartment block it? Also, in the description it says the Comer doesn't work with this extension bar. I was browsing through the HV20 forums and found a thread where you use this bar to mount the 1800 on top of a T2i. I might be mistaken, but from the pictures it looked like the same extension bar here. Did you have to modify this or the Comer somehow to get them to work together?

Ralph, thank you for your message. Because of the way the Comer light shoe grove, you won't be able to mount the light on this bar with the correct orientation. These are popular options
