What exactly does the diffuser add? I thought the light was already diffused. So it makes it even more diffused?
 
Do you recommend using it, and if so, for what applications?

Comer light comes with the orange diffuser to lower the color temperature to 3200K. The white diffuser retain the same color temperature (4500K) but further diffuse the light (as the light is already diffused by default). Thus this white diffuser gives the output of a soft box.

Question #1: How is the RG1800 diffuser attached? Does one unscrew the two small phillips screws holding the orange diffuser and reuse them to attach the white diffuser?
Question #2: How much light loss is there with the white diffuser?
