Posted by Tom Bostick on 8/5/2010 3:47:00 PM hey ,very excited about the hot shoe ,just one question:
is it sturdy compared to the pro 128 and 160 led lights ,the reason i ask is because they are quite flimsy and often tip over forward or back in the middle of a shoot

Replied by LA Color Pros Tom, the Pro 126 and Pro 160 light arm is really weak. Comer on the other hand is really well built and solid.
Posted by gillian morrison on 8/5/2010 4:30:00 PM looks great...i used my Sony HVL-20DW2 20W about theree times before the plastic shoes just chipped and then gave way...nearly lost the light.....

metal shoe all the way.....
Posted by maria on 8/5/2010 5:21:00 PM Can I order just the metal shoe as a spare part?
My plastic one already broke!
The light is great, but really needed this upgrade!

Posted by gabrielR on 8/5/2010 6:58:00 PM Just bought the old model. It would have been nice to had known that this one was coming...

Replied by LA Color Pros GabrielR, we also do not know the new model is coming. Basically there is no difference between the two except the separate ON/OFF switch. In my personal opinion, I do not like the separate ON/OFF switch. It was used to be a one-step process to dial the dimmer to turn on the light and set brightness. Now it will become a two-step process.

Other than that, the light is all identical. We also have been shipping the light with metal shoe 2 months ago.
Posted by gabrielR on 8/5/2010 7:05:00 PM Ohh..good to know! Didnt know about the new mount shipping since 2 months ago. Hope i got one of those...

Thanks!

Replied by LA Color Pros If you order the light recently, it will be ship with metal shoe for sure. If not, please contact us.
Posted by Mukki on 8/5/2010 9:58:00 PM was hoping for a proper screw shoe mount this time round for dslrs so it avoids punching a hole in the flash hotshoe. anyway to make the 900 shoe mount fit on the 1800?

Replied by LA Color Pros Mukki, we have this part allows you to mount the Comer 1800 light just like regular accessory shoe mount.

Posted by Kurt Vinion on 8/9/2010 4:22:00 PM Congrats on the upgrade! I will definitely pick one if these up. We use the original quite a bit and this upgrade is an improvement on an otherwise wonderful product!
